Financial Support

You may be eligible to apply for Free College Meals, depending on your circumstances. This means that on days you are timetabled to be in college, you will receive credit on your student ID card, which can be spent in the college cafes.

To be eligible you must be:

• Aged 16, 17 or 18 on the 31 August in the year your course starts

• Aged 19 and on the second year of the course you started before you turned 19 (Referred to as 19+ Continuers)

• Aged 19-25 with an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan)

 

In addition to the above, the household you live in gross income must be below £30,000 or be in receipt of an income-based benefits from the list below and evidence must be provided on your PayMyStudent Bursary application form.

• Income-based Jobseekers Allowance

• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

• Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (in receipt of NASS payments)

• The guarantee element of State Pension Credit

• Universal Credit with net earnings not exceeding the equivalent of £7,400 per year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
