Financial Support
Free College Meals
You may be eligible to apply for Free College Meals, depending on your circumstances. This means that on days you are timetabled to be in college, you will receive credit on your student ID card, which can be spent in the college cafes.

To be eligible you must be:

Aged 16, 17 or 18 on the 31 August in the year your course starts

Aged 19 and on the second year of the course you started before you turned 19 (Referred to as 19+ Continuers)

Aged 19-25 with an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan)
In addition to the above, the household you live in must also be in receipt of an income-based benefit from the list below and this evidence must be provided on your Pay My Student Bursary application form.​

Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (in receipt of NASS payments)

The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit

Universal Credit
Please note that households with a combined earned income and Universal Credit award of more than £30,000 will not be eligible for College Bursary funding.
