Childcare Support
-
You may be able to get financial help for Ofsted-registered childcare if you are a parent and carer aged 16 or over, meet the normal residency requirements, and have a household income under £30,000 or receive income-based benefits.
-
You will be responsible for paying for your childcare until your application has been approved and both you and your childcare provider have signed a college childcare contract
-
Payments will be backdated to the start of your course or when your childcare started within the current academic year once your application is successful

-
The college will contribute towards the cost of your childcare up to a maximum of £50 per day per student
-
Payments will only be made for days on which you are timetabled to be at college,
-
The college will pay for childcare in term time only and payments will not cover half terms, holidays or childcare deposits
-
All payments will be made directly to the childcare provider and payments will only be made to Ofsted-registered childcare providers (such as nurseries, childminders or after-school clubs)
-
Payments will not be made to nannies or childcare providers on the voluntary childcare register, whose premises have not been approved by Ofsted

There is limited funding for childcare support. It is available on a first-come first-served basis. We suggest that you apply as early as possible for this support as it is not guaranteed and you may be added to a waiting list for support.
